Strategies for Overcoming Public Speaking Fear

Overcoming Fear and Embracing Your Unique Strengths

If you are an introvert who fears public speaking, this article is for you. Most public speaking advice is "One Size Fits All"

Here is why such advice is not for you:

1. Most of it is written by extroverts for extroverts.

2. The advice requires you to show extreme enthusiasm

3. You have to step out of your comfort zone which steals your personality away from you.

Here is what you can do instead to improve your public speaking skills being an introvert:

1. Do in-depth Research on your topic, find out amazing facts and figures about the topic

2. Practice in a small setting first; let’s say 25-50 people

3. Do not bother about the fumbling for the first few speakings. Focus on speaking in front of people

4. Use your fear as a strength. Consider yourself being excited rather than nervous.

Your brain would not be able to differentiate

A fun fact

Elon Musk, Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg, and Warren Buffet all are INTROVERTS.

But with hard work in the right direction they overcame their fear of facing the audience.
